What is Recovery Month?

National Recovery Month (Recovery Month) is a national observance held every September to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the emergence of a strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and community members across the nation who make recovery in all its forms possible. This year’s Recovery Month theme, “Recovery is for Everyone: Every Person, Every Family, Every Community”

“The Biden-Harris Administration is committed to supporting the millions of Americans in recovery by expanding and enhancing the nation’s recovery support services infrastructure. This Recovery Month, we can all recommit to supporting family members, friends, and neighbors in recovery.”

By lending your face and your voice, you create space for a nurturing recovery community that is open and inclusive to all. Follow the journey.  #ILoveSomeoneInRecovery.

September is National Recovery Month, to celebrate, we’ve set up this pop-up group to share information, start discussion, raise awareness, and CELEBRATE RECOVERY! The group is for anyone who has been touched by substance use, addiction, or overdose. Whether you are in recovery or actively using substances, or are the extended family, parents, children, or friend of someone dealing with addiction or in recovery, this group is for you. Addiction is a tough and highly stigmatized disease, but recovery is possible. At Confidant, our aim is to create an informative, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment for everyone to share their experiences for the greater good of all.
Join us for various activities and challenges to celebrate Recovery Month throughout the month of September. The most active group members will receive a prize at the end of the pop-up. Cheers!
