Afrocentric  – Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) Virtual training program (Adult Addiction and Mental Health)
All Classes 9:30am to 3:30pm(PST)
Week 1 June, 9th June, 10th June, 11th

The culturally specific workgroup, led by a lead consultant, reviewed existing PWS
training slides and materials and provided feedback on necessary changes to ensure it
was culturally responsive. After all the materials had been reviewed and updated,
we contracted with another consultant to complete a peer review of the full training.
That consultant worked alongside the lead consultant to discuss their recommended
changes and feedback. The lead consultant then incorporated that feedback into the
Peer Wellness Specialist training. Administrative support was provided by MHAAO
throughout the process.
Through funding support from Multnomah County, the Afrocentric PWS will be
launching in June, with full scholarships available for Multnomah County residents!
