The Schizophrenia and Psychosis Action Alliance (S&PAA) offers free, ongoing peer support through an online Facebook community group, weekly peer-led conference calls and Zoom meetings, and a toll-free information resource line.
All services are open to people living with schizophrenia or psychosis-related conditions, as well as family members, caregivers, educators, and other supporters.

The S&PAA Resource Line provides free, personalized information and guidance to people living with schizophrenia or psychosis-related conditions, and to their families, caregivers, teachers, social workers, and other supporters. Specially trained team members answer questions, help navigate complex situations, connect callers with tools and educational materials, and offer non-judgmental encouragement. S&PAA does not provide medical or legal advice, cannot make appointments or direct referrals, and does not endorse specific providers or treatments. S&PAA Blended Support Group (Facebook Community)
The S&PAA Blended Support Group is a free, online peer community hosted on Facebook, open to people with lived experience of schizophrenia or psychosis-related conditions as well as their family members, caregivers, friends, teachers, social workers, and other supporters. Members of this group have agreed to make some of their posts and comments publicly visible to give prospective members a sense of what the group is about. Join the group to view full content, participate in discussions, and connect with others in the community.

Schizophrenia Alliance — Peer Conference Calls and Zoom Meetings
The Schizophrenia Alliance (SA) is a free, peer-led self-help group for people living with schizophrenia or a schizophrenia-related illness, organized and managed by people with lived experience. Administered in partnership with S&PAA, SA offers ongoing weekly conference calls and Zoom meetings throughout the month at multiple times. People who have not been officially diagnosed with schizophrenia but have experienced psychosis are also eligible to participate. Registration is required — submit the form to receive login information and available times.

Families for Care — Caregiver and Family Support Groups
Families for Care (FFC) is a free support group for family members, caregivers, and loved ones of individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia or a schizophrenia-related illness, including schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, and major depression with psychosis spectrum disorders. Founded in 2008, FFC offers a non-judgmental, confidential community focused on education, acceptance, and practical coping strategies. Note: FFC groups are currently at capacity; prospective members can register for the waitlist to be notified when space becomes available.

S&PAA hosts a free monthly Career Chat over Zoom for people diagnosed with schizophrenia who are working in paid or unpaid positions or are currently attending school. Career Chat sessions offer job networking support and connection with others navigating employment and education with a schizophrenia-related illness.

The Schizophrenia and Psychosis Action Alliance (S&PAA), incorporated as Schizophrenia and Related Disorders Alliance of America, is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded with roots in the Schizophrenia Alliance peer support movement that began in Detroit in 1985 and has grown to reach thousands of participants across the United States and globally.
S&PAA’s mission is to save lives by changing the treatment paradigm for all people affected by schizophrenia-related brain diseases involving psychosis, standing for hope and recovery through education, peer-based support, scientific research, and public policy advocacy.
