Looking Glass Homeless Youth Services services Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY). New Roads drop-in center serves youth between the ages of 16-21 and hosts a variety of services from showers and meals to safe and stable housing. Station 7 Youth Shelter provides emergency shelter for youth 12-20.

Peace at Home (Battered Persons’ Advocacy) is a private non-profit agency focused on creating a community free of family violence, sexual assault and stalking through empowerment, support, and education. Services include: Emergency Services, Hispanic Outreach Services, Legal Advocacy Services, Sexual Assault Services, Shelter Services, Peer to Peer Counseling and Support Groups, and Transitional Services.

We improve access to supports and community opportunities for youth who experience mental health challenges, may be outside traditional settings, are marginalized, or are at risk of disconnection from services. Healthy Transitions develops supportive relationships, improves life trajectories, promotes self-discovery and independence, and empowers youth and young adults to reach their goals. Trimet LIFT provides shared-ride services for people who are unable to use regular buses and trains due to a disability or disabling health condition.

Point of Pride provides free chest binders (specially-designed chest compression garments) to any trans person who needs one and cannot afford or safely obtain one.

Point of Pride’s Electrolysis Support Fund provides financial assistance towards permanent hair removal services (including electrolysis and laser hair removal) for trans femme folks who cannot otherwise afford them.

Eligibility: We have very few requirements in an effort to be as inclusive as possible: You must identify as transgender and on the feminine spectrum (this program supports AMAB trans people including MTF, trans femme, and non-binary identities.) You are seeking hair removal on your face, neck, or on an area of your body in preparation for bottom surgery. You have financial need that prevents you from affording hair removal services. You are 18 years old or older, or have consent from your parents and/or hair removal providers. You live in the United States.

Cost: This program is intended to help trans folks who otherwise can not afford hair removal. We ask that you consider your access to healthcare before applying for this grant. Here are some questions to consider:

Point of Pride’s Annual Transgender Surgery Fund is a scholarship-like program that provides direct financial assistance to trans folks who cannot afford their gender-affirming surgery.

Ride to Care provides non-emergent (not for an emergency) medical transportation or NEMT at no cost to the member. It is a benefit for eligible Health Share of Oregon members in Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington Counties. The trips get you to health care visits that Health Share pays for through the Oregon Health Plan (OHP). This could include appointments to a doctor, dentist, mental health counselor, or more.

Ride Connection is a private, non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon, dedicated to providing transportation services to people in Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties. Our services are offered at no cost to our customers.

Eligibility: Ride Connection serves older adults and people with disabilities. Because we believe every individual should have access to reliable transportation, some services are designed for the general public. Call us and we will guide you to the right option.

Bikes for Humanity PDX provides services, like bicycle repairs and repair classes, and donated bicycles to riders from different economic backgrounds.

Impact NW works with families to make sure they are able to pay their bills during difficult financial times, while connecting them with resources that help them transition out of poverty and into self-sufficiency. We provide information and referrals in multiple languages and connect families with social services throughout the community, such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits or Impact NW’s Housing & Rent Assistance.

For customers of Pacific Power and Northwest Natural Gas, or oil and propane, walk–in energy assistance is available at our Dancing Tree Family Center (10055 E Burnside St.) Monday – Thursday, 9:00 am until 4:00 pm (or until appointments are filled). Transition Projects’ Resource Center allows individuals experiencing homelessness to access support services and connects individuals to our programming.

Sexual assault legal services for immigrants, students, and transgender individuals in the state of Oregon for no fee. The Victim Rights Law Center provides free, comprehensive legal services for sexual assault victims with civil legal issues in Massachusetts and Oregon. Our attorneys harness their knowledge from representing survivors to train professionals nationwide to improve the response to sexual violence.

Provides rapid access to resources and emergency services, such as: clothing/shoes, personal care products, backpacks, food, housing specialist, transportation, doctor’s appointments, counseling, mentors/peer support, youth advocate, application assistance, and library cards.

The first step toward becoming sober. Sobering and medical detox on site. Walk up to the building, call, or get transportation from CAHOOTS. Spanish speakers available. You are housed and monitored in a safe and clean environment until you pass a sobriety test and can leave in a safe condition. During your stay, you are monitored for emerging medical issues, provided soup, fluids, and a safe place to rest. Prior to discharge, you meet with our skilled staff that provides motivational counseling designed to encourage entry into detox or other addiction treatment and referrals to other social/medical services as indicated.

Provides 24/7 on-site care for mental health or substance abuse emergencies, conflict resolution/mediation, transport to other agencies, deals with housing crises and first aid. Serves the Eugene-Springfield Metro area. CAHOOTS is dispatched through the Eugene police-fire-ambulance communications center, and within the Springfield urban growth boundary, dispatched through the Springfield non-emergency number. Each team consists of a medic (either a nurse or an EMT) & a crisis worker (who has at least several years experience in the mental health field).

Provides transitional shelter in Conestoga hut. The Conestoga Hut Micro-Shelter is a quick shelter option for individuals and couples who are experiencing homelessness. The Hut is designed as a hard-shelled, insulated tent structure that can be built with a group of a few volunteers with a wide-range of construction experience. *The Safe Spot Communities (SSC) are legal, designated places for people who are without a conventional form of housing. CSS currently provides oversight to three SSCs, each focusing on a different demographic of the houseless population (people with disabilities, a site for veterans, and another site for a mixed population).

Eligibility: ‘- No drugs and alcohol used onsite – Violence or threats of violence are not tolerated – Participants must attend monthly meetings, work parties, and personal check-ins with CSS Action Plan Advisors – Every participant holds a volunteer task or role within the SSC – General time limit of 10-months for participants – Participants (except for gate-keeper volunteers) are required to leave the site from 10am to 4pm Mon thru Fri

LTD offers half fare to qualifying people with disabilities. In order to establish eligibility for half fare, a person must provide a current, valid Medicare card, or proof of receiving SSI or SSD along with a valid photo ID card. Veterans who receive 50 percent or higher disability benefit are also eligible for half fare. Persons with disabilities who need an accessible accommodation in order to ride the bus may also be eligible for half fare.

Phone access, direct express cards, Assurance/Lifeline phones, and food stamps. Helps clients sign up for the Oregon Health Plan and purchasing private insurance through www.healthcare.gov. Walk in during open hours. Assistance is available by phone until 2 p.m.

A national line that provides referral to services for homeless veterans or veterans at risk of becoming homeless. Others can also request referrals on behalf of veterans.
